Our goal is to raise the remaining funds needed to make the community center a reality.

Funds Secured

OneDenmark and the Brown County Library received a grant of $4.025 million from the Wisconsin Department of Administration. The grant money will help us renovate approximately 16,000 square feet of the building, including the library, internet café, community meeting space, conference rooms, the teen center, and the children’s spot, as well as provide broadband technology to support education, employment, and healthcare.

Funds Needed

We aim to raise an additional $2 million to bring our community center plans to life. This funding will allow us to refresh the gymnasium, create a fitness center, and develop programs to support healthy bodies and minds. We’ll also provide a space for the Community Cupboard and create a shelled space for commercial leasing. With your support, we can also update the lower level of the center to offer modern and inviting rental spaces for the community. Together, we can make all of this happen!

Local Impact

The Community Center will connect people, offer educational, health and wellness opportunities, and uplift the community. We will serve approximately 6,000 residents from Denmark and surrounding areas, and will become a center of connectedness and opportunity.

Our TIMELINE

With plans underway and a portion of the financial support secured, the remaining $2 million needs to be secured by the fall of 2025 to make the entire community center plan a reality.

Help Fill the Bucket!

Why “fill the bucket”?

The story behind “Fill the Bucket” is a testament to our community spirit. OneDenmark purchased the former Early Childhood Center from the Denmark School District for $1. When we took possession of the building, community volunteers came together to clean and prepare it for our symbolic opening event. During the cleanup, volunteers started collecting scrap metal pieces in a 5-gallon bucket. By the end of the day, the bucket was nearly full. They took it to Norb’s Salvage to see what it was worth. The contents fetched just over one dollar. At the opening event, OneDenmark board members handed the School District leaders that $1, symbolizing the sale of the building. This story embodies the collaborative effort and dedication of our community, turning small contributions into meaningful progress.
